A Tsunami That was Actually Nerve-racking

On the 5th of March Paihia and a small bit of the North Island had an evacuation because people thought that we were going to have a tsunami.

We had to walk up a hill to evacuate school. It was hard because I was trying to not think about tsunami.  When we did this it was frightful because everybody thought the tsunami was coming and it freaked us out. Everybody thought it would wash our houses away. Our teachers went down the hill and got our bags so we could eat our lunch, but also people gave us lollies, our office lady gave us a mint and we got sausages from Fritz’s Wieners. Me and some of my friends were scared. Have you ever seen a tsunami? Have you ever been stuck up a hill for 5 hours during a tsunami?

  1. Kia Ora, I'm Tabby from Ahipara school. I really like your Tsunami work, it must have been really exciting but at the same time scary when the Tsunami hit. Apart from the Tsunami bit it seems like you had a good time. Your work is nice and detailed, good job!
