Water cycle

In Te Maunga we were learning about the water cycle.
We also did art.
I learnt different ways to colour with colouring in pencils.
I learnt about condensation, evaporation, collection, and precipitation.
For our art we had to draw one step from the water cycle.

hygiene

Konnichiwa everybody, My name is Anika. I made a D.L.O about hand washing. It is just the steps on how to wash your hands.
One of my teachers is Mr Ngata. He showed us an experiment with pepper, milk and soap. First he poured the milk into a bowl. Then he put pepper in the same bowl and it stayed afloat. Third he put soap on his finger. Fourth he put his finger in the milk and the pepper drifted away.

Day one activity two

Action world

On Tuesday Te Maunga and Te Ngahere went to action world. It was
incredible. Except for the trapeze, I was holding onto the trapeze and
I stretched my arm and then twisted it and landed on a hard bit.
I loved the water slide, it was fun to slide down and it was warm.
I also like that sort of bouncy castle thing where you have to go and ring
the bell. I was going to go to the big trapeze but I had just nearly broken
my arm so  I did not want to.

Makerspace electricity

We did Makerspace electricity.  We had to make 5 different types of  electricity, lemon light, brain box, pick up salt with a comb, static electricity, and another brain box. My favourite was lemon light. We had to use: 4 lemons, 1 l.e.d light, 5 alligator clips, 5 nails, and 4 10 cents. To make it work: first we put the nail in the side of all 4 lemons. Second, we had to cut a hole in the other side of the lemons so the ten cents could go in. Third we had to put the alligator clips on the nails and clip the other side of the alligator clip to the ten cents. Fourth we put the l.e.d light in one of the alligator clips, and last but not least, try to keep the clips in place and the LED light will turn on. My group was Jaelyn - Marie, Charlize, Poet, Jacob, Sammy, Ebony and me.

On Friday Te Maunga did something called Maker space. We made salads, pikelets, and sandwiches. My group made pikelets. They were sooo delicious. The ingredients were: lemon, golden syrup, carrot, caramelised banana, [caramelised banana is fried banana] milk, sugar, flour, eggs, and baking powder. We used an electrical frying pan to make them.
